Botanical Drawing Workshop with Abigail Wiese

Come and enjoy a two-hour botanical drawing workshop in the quiet and peaceful surroundings of Roto House with local artist Abigail Wiese.

The workshop will explore drawing exercises for mindfulness, mark-making techniques, and close observation of form, contrast and composition. Participants will be guided through a series of exercises before creating their own botanical artwork, drawing inspiration from the natural world around them.

The workshop is open to participants of all ages and abilities. Rather than focusing on technical skill, the workshop celebrates each person’s unique way of seeing, observing and mark making.

This workshop takes place in conjunction with Abigail’s exhibition, Home, ‘what we move towards and what we return to’, on show at Roto House from 3–27 September. The exhibition opening will be held on Thursday 3 September, 5–7pm, and will feature a performance by Rusty Muscle Dance Collective.
